What is a Call for Communities?
For last year’s Codemotion Berlin, we have actively approached communities in order to give them the chance to use our conference as a platform for networking and knowledge exchange. Interested communities have had the opportunity to hold a lightning talk (approx. 5 minutes) or a workshop. The idea was great but we felt there was still room for improvement.
To take the idea one step further, we will provide a separate community stage this year (besides three other “Call for Papers stages”). Every participating community will have the chance to assign one community member to hold a presentation. The talk can feature your communities’ field of interest as well as topics around building, organizing and sustaining a (developer) community. Talks can either be 20 or 40 minutes long.
How do we define the term “community“?
We define the term community as a group of people who have created structures to actively share information about a field of interest they are passionate about. This can be a meetup/Stammtisch or a branch of a well-established international community with elaborated structures. Some examples of last year’s communities are the following:
Sounds like a great idea? Get in touch with us!
Please send a mail to linda.dudacy@codemotionworld.com & tell us why you’d like to be part of Codemotion Berlin and what your community wants to contribute.
{ Call for Communities Deadline: July 20, 2016 }
Important: We can’t guarantee speaker slots on our community stage, we’ve only got 2 conference days so first come, first serve!
